2chron 25:1-24

 

1. God aides whom he wills, according to His Sovereign purpose:

Deut 32:39,40 /  Ps75;4-7 /  Rom 13:1 / Eph 1:11   

 

2. He helps those that see their helpless:  2chron 14:9:6 ( Asa)

20:6 ( Jehoshaphat) / Joshua 10:4,5 /  1Sam 14:6 ( Jonathan)

 

3. They typology  the kings reiterated:  “ All monarchs, typify

and rival the true monarch Christ Jesus. ( L/L & K/K) Rev 19:16

4. Context: Vs 1,2 5 ( Judah battling paganism) - (apologetics)  

 

5. The temptation: - Vs 7-9 /  2chron 19:2 /

The Jehoshaphat compromise - 

 

6. The apparent success : Vs 11,12 / Luke 4:28-30

 

7. The Failure:  Vs 14,15 / The gods worshipped? Seir/Moab: Gen 36:1/8

8. The cause: Vs 2   “Wholly committed to Jesus Christ” John 20 /

9 The warning:  Zeal to appose false doctrine, is not the same

as a love for the truth:   1cor 13- You can have one without the other 

 

10: Exhortation to keep the gospel:   Christ alone / Grace alone/  Faith alone /   Scripture alone/ God’s glory alone :  John 17:6-8

 

 

 

 

                             Jesus Christ Himself!

 

There is a real "spiritual presence" of Christ, wherever His believing people meet together in His name. This is the plain meaning of His famous saying, "Wherever two or three are gathered together in My name—there I am in the midst of them!" (Matthew 18:20). The smallest gathering of true Christians for the purposes of prayer or praise, or holy conference, or reading God's Word—is sanctified by the best of company! The great or rich or noble may not be there—but the King of kings Himself is present—and angels look on with reverence!

The grandest buildings which men have reared for religious uses, are often no better than whitened sepulchers—destitute of any holy influence—because they are given up to superstitious ceremonies, and filled to no purpose with crowds of formal worshipers, who come unfeeling, and go unfeeling away. No worship is of any use to souls—at which Christ is not present! Incense, banners, pictures, flowers, crucifixes, and long processions of richly dressed ecclesiastics—are a poor substitute for the great High Priest Himself!

The poorest room where a few penitent believers assemble in the name of Jesus—is a consecrated and most holy place in the sight of God! Those who worship God in spirit and truth—never draw near to Him in vain. Often they go home from such meetings warmed, cheered, established, strengthened, comforted and refreshed. And what is the secret of their feelings?

For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts

                          is his name; Isa 54:5

What a bold statement Church! What a shameless claim by

such a mighty God, to own helpless, hopeless, needy sinners

not merely as His creatures, which is more than we do for Him;

 

But to own us as His bride! Stop, senseless one, and consider

 your privilege, you who have felt His saving power. What does

 this mean? Ezekiel 16

As His bride, He must find something in you, that satisfies him.

 For is it not the job of a wife to satisfy her husband? To fill his

 heart will delights, and joy, with comforts and communion?

Prov 31

Of course it is. . How much more amazing then is it that the all

sufficient God from whom all blessings flow. The God of eternity,

and inexhaustibleness of character and essence, should derive from

 me some benefit? But it is so, and it is so because He has made me meet, to be His bride! Eph 5:35-33

 

Consider then, the Husband’s role in doing this. He gave His side,

 to create me. He obeyed His law to cover me. He laid down His

life to save me. He imparted His holy Spirit to quicken me, and

He has brought me into such union with himself. That He and I are

 one flesh! “ OH, the Love of Christ for redeemed sinners! Marvel!

 

Marvel, and then, love him back with all your heart, shamelessly!

1. I am still working out the details of where. Although we might be at home, here. And cooperation will be needed to accommodate, and minimize energy.

 

2.Your pastor will bring the theme messages, and Pastor Fortner will bring the prophetic word for our comfort!

 

3. If everyone brings one person who has not come before, we will be more than successful at our evangelical responsibility to bring the stranger to the feast. Luke 14:15-24

 

4. We need  special singing for each night. Singles, duets, trios, etc, musical,  acapella  or both. Please see pastor, for approval! Smile!

 

5. We will need helpers in all areas. Nursery, children’s ministry. Kitchen help. Clean up. Greeting, etc. There will be a chart with positions and dates to fill in. Let us all make ourselves available!

 

6. God has always blessed our conferences. But let us never, never be presumptuous about His presence approval and power to edify us, and save the lost during these meetings.

 

7. This is for HIS GLORY!
